my fans are dirty...because shit keeps HITTING THEM!!! :D

sorry i haven't updated in a while, but i have been really crazy. Cindi's mom passed away last friday. (see previous posts) She is comming back to work on monday, and i will already be on vacation!!! It is unbelievable what has happened. How many fires can start up in a week?? I have had at least 3 customer problems directly related to Cindi being gone, and many indirectly related, and i thought i had finally put them all out, until today....

The short version: I got somebody fired today. The long version: I came in to work early today, to make sure i had time to get everything due today done. Well, i boot up the computer, and try to clock in. Well, our database is completely web-based, so even just clocking in requires us to dial up (why we dont have Road runner or something is BEYOND me..) So i click on the icon to do that, and instead of our internet server comming online, the aol server pops up and says it can't find the page. Well, no duh, because our system ISN"T AOL! okay, a little background: Accessing the internet for personal use on our business computer is VERY prohibited. Immediate termination. So anyway, i call our tech support, because i can't figure out how to get my server back. I even looked in the temp files to find the address. Funny sidenote: They didn't even bother to erase the temp files!! I could see EXACTLY where this person had been, and ironically enough, she was looking for another job.--OOPS! so the tech guy, even when he diled into my computer himself, could not make it go, so i had to send it to the warehouse for them to do something to it to figure out what happened. In essence, this person is busted for using the computer for personal reasons. I know who it is, she has some it before, but nothing has ever been done about it becasue it never interfered with business before. Now, she wiped out our whole operating system!

*note to self: If i must break the rules at work, I will make sure to be smart enough to NOT cripple the ENTIRE computer, and will make an effort to at least cover my tracks a BIT!*

so, becuase i had to send the computer in, she will be fired, and i cannot help her. SHe brought it on herself, but i will be sad to see her go, i liked her. (Despite this stupid stuff she does)

THEN, another employee came in, and will be atleast taking a leave of absence, if not quitting, because she decided to leave her abusive and psychotic husband and will not be able to find someone to watch her kid (once she gets custody of him again) so I lost 2 employees today, a third is thinking about it, a fourth has a job offer from someone else she is really concidering, and a fifth we really want to get rid of, that just won't go! That leaves three of us, and CIndi is just getting over loosing her mother, i am looking for ways to leave before christmas, and Cory is just an asshole and deserves to be fired based on his personality!!!! but i go on a week and a half's vacation in three days, and then it's cindi's problem. (eew, that sounds really shallow!!!)

So now, i am going to visit my neopet, and finish my faerie quest, which requires me to play lots of computer games so i can get enough points to buy "Loyal Lupes" from the bookstore and get whatever the water faerie decides to give me for it....sounds like a good way to spend an evening to me! :)
