Hi. This is me. Welcome! My disclaimer: This is a casual journal, not a dissertation. Therefore, please disregard any punctuational, grammatical and spelling mistakes I am sure to make. Enjoy!

I saw this TV program the other day on TLC that drove me crazy. Called the "Mysteries of the Bible". That's fine, but they talked for half an hour about the Bible Code, which in my opinion, doesn't really have anything to do with what the Bible actually says. Then, and this is my favorite part, They went on to say that Ezekiel's vision was really a spaceship, and that Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by a nuclear bomb! And, of course, NONE of it was based on any sort of expert opinion or documentation, but rather on what "could be possible, with a little imagination"! They would bring in experts to explain the Biblical story, but the interpreting part was done by the show's host, a really shifty looking guy with a high-pitched, whiny voice, that had no education in the subject at all!

OH, but here's the best part! Before this show, there was a show about finding the Garded of Eden, where they were using the Bible as an actual reliable source of history. Ok, so explain to me how it can be a reliable historical account, and then an hour later, be so open to interpretation that you can read Sodom and Gomorrah, and see a NUCLEAR BOMB!?!?!? I about pulled my hair out!!

The funny thing is, that the Mysteries show had a huge disclaimer before it that "the opinions in this program do not reflect the opinions of the network", but before Eden, no disclaimer. So in other words, THEY knew it was bunk, but for some unfathomable reason felt compeled to air it anyway. (actually, i think it's a legal thing that they have to give all opinions an equal opportunity for air time, or at least in radio it is.)

IF they would actually read the Bible, there are a lot more compelling mysteries in it that just whether Ezekiel saw a spaceship or not, and they are much more intriguing and wonderful too!
